Why we are ducking out
After many years of hatching cute, fluffy chicks, other poultry eggs can appeal to some people looking for `a change`. We like to keep our customers happy and so I looked into this option. And the reality is that in this current climate, consumer demand is very low for duck eggs compared to chicken eggs.
When was the last time you bought duck eggs? Many people never buy duck eggs or duck meat, and they are not on most peoples weekly shopping list. For this very reason, it would be difficult to rehome large quantities of ducklings, as our smallholders would have little reason to grow them on for duck eggs or meat. The demand is just not there. Have you ever seen a free range field of ducks for example?
We at the happy chick company ensure that every healthy chick we collect, is always rehomed, every time without exception. That is why we have taken the ethical stance of NOT supplying other breeds of poultry for hatching (taking into consideration the points raised above) we cannot guarantee that a home can be offered to them and we will not compromise on our ethics for monetary gain.
You will notice on our website we have clear telephone numbers and address details. You can pick up the phone and talk to a person. We have genuine pictures of our chicks being collected and rehomed.
Customers can use the happy chick company with confidence.
